" MANFRED MANN was out of the limelight for the latter part of last year, but this didn't represent any lapse on the group's part. The Manfreds were all extremely busy behind the scenes, writing and performing TV commercials - and preparing the soundtrack music for the movie "Up The Junction" which, when premiered early in 1968, was widely acclaimed - particularly for its imaginative score. But the group burst back into the Chart reckoning in a big way in January, with the release ot its "Mighty Quinn" single, which rocketed to the top of the NME Chart and subsequently took America by storm. Much in demand overseas and for its soundtrack work in films and TV, and with every one of its releases assured a high placing in the hit parade, the Manfreds are deservedly one of the busiest groups on the scene today."
